The Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Athens had the distinct honor of hosting the Vice President of the Government, Mr. Costis Hadjidakis, as the official guest and keynote speaker during a formal dinner held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the historic Athens Club.
In his keynote address, titled “Seven Strategic Interventions to Safeguard the Greek Economy Against Global Volatility,” Mr. Hadjidakis presented a comprehensive overview of the government’s current strategy to enhance economic stability. His remarks focused on key initiatives aimed at reinforcing Greece’s resilience in the face of international economic uncertainties. Among other issues, he highlighted developments in global trade, stressing the importance of long-term vision and strategic planning, particularly in response to the limited export activity to the United States. He underscored the need to fortify the country’s competitiveness, economic autonomy, and adaptive capacity in a rapidly shifting global landscape.
The Vice President was warmly welcomed by the President of the Chamber, Cav. Ioannis Tsamichas, who extended greetings on behalf of the Board of Directors. The event brought together a distinguished audience, including H.E. the Ambassador of Italy to Greece, esteemed representatives of local Chambers of Commerce and professional organizations, senior business executives, and delegates from leading academic and research institutions. Several of the attendees offered brief remarks, underlining the enduring friendship and dynamic cooperation that continue to define Greek-Italian relations. The role of the business community as a catalyst for bilateral development was a central theme of the evening.
